Sitting on the stairs
I think in some way, we are all born with an inner compass.
Something that leads us to situations, scenarios, and opportunities that maybe initially, we think we shouldn’t go towards.
Michelle Sinotte of Vaguely Obsessed expressed it on the podcast today as a moment sitting on the stairs, listening in on a jam she had been invited to, wondering about whether or not to join.
For her duo mate, Craig Siemens, it was showing up on the edge of a baseball field at 5 years old with a baseball mit, hoping the older kids would invite him to play.
The fascinating thing about following that compass, even if it makes you nervous, is that it usually brings a breakthrough, a moment of growth, or something else special.

In terms of your songwriting or your musical growth, do you find yourself right now, sitting on the stairs, waiting for something to nudge you a bit the direction of your curiosity?
If so, consider this post a nudge in that direction.
Go try the thing 🙌🏻.
Perhaps the experience will lead to a song you love ❤️.
If you recall a transformative time in your life like Craig and Michelle did, I encourage you to explore that a bit more.
What was so special about that moment, and who did you become as a result?
Perhaps remembering and reflecting on that will lead to another song you love ❤️❤️.
